Script Update Modes, Offline Banner, and Status Legend

v1.5.1 · April 23, 2026

What's new

When you update a script, you now choose how: replace only the dialogue text, add only new scenes and characters, or re-parse everything from scratch.

The app now shows a clear offline banner when there's no network connection. If your session expires, you'll see a prompt to log in again instead of a silent failure.

A status legend in the script hub explains what each progress icon on scenes and acts means.

Why it matters for your rehearsal

Scripts change. A director cuts a scene, rewrites a speech, or adds a new sequence mid-rehearsal. Before this release, updating meant a full re-parse — which resets progress, loses scene notes, and wipes recordings on changed lines. That trade-off stopped most people from updating at all.

With three update modes, the cost matches the scale of the change. If only the wording shifted, you update the text and keep everything else. If new scenes were added, you pull them in without touching what you've already studied. The full re-parse is still there when you need it.

How to use it

Update your script with a specific mode

  1. Open a script and tap the actions menu
  2. Tap Update script
  3. Choose a mode — each option shows what will be preserved and what will change

Check the status legend

  1. Open any script in the hub
  2. Tap the legend icon near the act and scene list
  3. The legend shows what each icon means: to study, in progress, completed, no characters of yours
