Background Audio: Rehearse with Your Phone in Your Pocket
v2.4.0 · September 27, 2026
What's new
Background audio. Cue drills now continue when you lock the screen or switch to another app. This works in scene view, My Lines, and the full script view.
System media controls. The player shows the current line and gives you play, pause, previous, and next controls from the Lock Screen, Control Center, media controls, or supported headphones.
The same rehearsal modes. Automatic pauses, manual pause, scene loop, TTS, and dialogue recordings stay in the same playback flow. Scene Partner listens while HitCue is open. If you leave the app, the drill continues with automatic pauses and starts listening again when you return.
Why it matters for your rehearsal
You no longer need to keep the screen awake or hold your phone through a full cue run. Put it in your pocket, keep moving, and use the controls you already know when you need to repeat or skip a line.
That makes longer runs practical while walking, doing warm-ups, or working away from the screen. Your attention stays on listening and answering instead of managing the app between cues.
Background audio is included with HitCue Pro.
How to use it
- Open a scene, My Lines, or the full script view
- Tap Play to start the drill
- Lock the screen or switch to another app
- Use the system player or your headphones to pause, resume, or move between lines
