Hidden Text Styles and Alias-Level Character Management

What's new
Three levels of hidden text. Blackout mode now offers a choice in Study Settings: Blackout hides the full line, First word only keeps the first word visible and blurs the rest, and Initials only keeps just the first letter of each word visible.
Manage aliases individually. The "All aliases" view now lets you act on a single alias instead of the whole character. Open an alias to merge it into one or more other characters, or delete it — without affecting the character's other aliases or lines.
Safer alias deletion. Deleting an alias requires typing DELETE to confirm, the same safeguard already in place for deleting a character.
Why it matters for your rehearsal
A single blackout level doesn't fit every stage of memorization — a stronger hint helps early on, full blackout tests you once you're closer to off-book. Choosing the level from Study Settings means you don't need a different tool for each phase of rehearsal.
Parsed scripts sometimes attach a stray alias to the wrong character — a typo, an abbreviation, a stage direction misread as a name. Until now, fixing that meant managing the alias from the character it was attached to. Now you can fix it directly from the alias itself, merging or removing it without disturbing the rest of that character's lines.
How to use it
Choose a hidden text style
- Open a scene and tap Study Settings
- Tap Hidden text style
- Choose Blackout, First word only, or Initials only
Manage a single alias
- Open a script and tap All aliases
- Tap the alias you want to fix
- Tap Merge alias to assign it to one or more characters, or Delete alias to remove it
- For deletion, type DELETE to confirm
